Pemba Tshering Sherpa

Pemba Tshering Sherpa Assistant Instructor, KCC Basic Group

Pemba is a mountain guide for Peaks of Nepal. He joined KCC as a student in 2008 and became an instructor for the first time in 2016. Originally from Namche, Pemba has climbed and guided for 11 years. During this time, he summited Ama Dablam 2 times, and summited some of the region’s major trekking peaks (Lobuche Peak, Island Peak, Mera Peak). In 2011, Pemba rescued a Sherpa who broke his leg while climbing Island Peak, and has since been interested in KCC’s mission for reducing accidents in the mountains through safety and rescue trainings. Looking ahead, Pemba has plans to work as a climbing Sherpa on Everest in 2017 and to continue ice climbing in the Solukhumbu region. When he’s not guiding in the mountains, Pemba can be found working for the government as a border patrol agent on Nepal’s border with China.
